Solvent‐ and Transition Metal‐Free Mechanochemical Synthesis of 2‐Thiazolines and S‐Thiocarbamates
Solvent‐ and transition metal‐free synthetic pathways for obtaining 2‐thiazolines and S‐thiocarbamates, based on the mechanochemical process of addition of chloroalkyl iso(thio)cyanates to thiols catalyzed by cheap and commercially available K2CO3, are designed and optimized.

The dual role of thiourea in the thiotrifluoromethylation of alkenes [PDF]
Alkenes substituted with a thiourea undergo C-CF3 followed by intramolecular C-S bond formation with the Togni reagent and trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) at room temperature; thiols and thioamides are not suitable S-sources for this reaction.

Unresolved rearrangement of thiazoline form of glutathione [PDF]
The thiazoline form of glutathione was investigated with regard to its unresolved instability under neutral conditions. A simple method was developed for production of the thiazoline in stable solid form, thereby facilitating preparation of its neutral solution without using excess base and enabling isolation of the reaction product in quantity by ion ...

1,3‐dimethyl‐4‐imidazoline‐2‐chalcogenones react with dihalogens, initially forming a charge‐transfer (CT) adduct, which may evolve to the most stable T‐shaped hypercoordinate (TY) species. However, in silico results show that the CT adduct is more stable than the corresponding TY species for the sulfur and iodine combination.

Sequential Multicomponent Strategy for the Diastereoselective Synthesis of Densely Functionalized Spirooxindole-Fused Thiazolidines [PDF]
We developed two Ugi-type three-component reactions of spirooxindole-fused 3-thiazolines, isocyanides, and either carboxylic acids or trimethylsilyl azide, to give highly functionalized spirooxindole-fused thiazolidines.

AbstractA new family of thiazoline ligands tethered to a sulfanyl or a sulfinyl group has been prepared using short and efficient reaction sequences. Among the different structures, one sulfanyl‐thiazoline homopolymer was synthesized as a first example of an immobilized thiazoline ligand.
