Tensile deformation and fracture mechanisms of Cu/Nb nanolaminates studied by in situ TEM mechanical tests

open access: yes, 2018
The mechanisms of deformation and failure of Cu/Nb nanolaminates manufactured by accumulated roll bonding were analysed using in-situ TEM mechanical tests.

Screen Printed PZT Composite Thick Films [PDF]

open access: yesIntegrated Ferroelectrics, 2004
Composite film (ComFi) technology has been developed as an alternative technique to achieve thick (5–100 ?m) films at temperatures compatible with silicon processing. The technique entails producing a composite slurry consisting of PZT powder and a PZT producing sol.

FGFR Like1 drives esophageal cancer progression via EMT, PI3K/Akt, and notch signalling: insights from clinical data and next‐generation sequencing analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Clinical analysis reveals significant dysregulation of FGFRL1 in esophageal cancer (EC) patients. RNAi‐coupled next‐generation sequencing (NGS) and in vitro study reveal FGFRL1‐mediated EC progression via EMT, PI3K/Akt, and Notch pathways. Functional assays confirm its role in tumor growth, migration, and invasion.

Roughness profile and surface roughness after toothbrushing and degree of conversion of bulk-fill resins [PDF]

open access: yesBrazilian Oral Research
The aim of this study was to assess roughness profile and surface roughness after simulated toothbrushing cycles, as well as the degree of conversion (DC) of bulk-fill resin composites at different depths.

Tumor‐stromal crosstalk and macrophage enrichment are associated with chemotherapy response in bladder cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemoresistance in bladder cancer: Macrophage recruitment associated with CXCL1, CXCL5 and CXCL8 expression is characteristic of Gemcitabine/Cisplatin (Gem/Cis) Non‐Responder tumors (right side) while Responder tumors did not show substantial tumor‐stromal crosstalk (left side). All biological icons are attributed to Bioicons: carcinoma, cancerous‐cell‐

Achieving superior mechanical performance in one-part geopolymer composites through innovative hybrid fiber systems of recycled steel and PVA fibers

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
Fiber-Reinforced Geopolymer Composites (FRGCs) typically use mono-fiber reinforcement, often overlooking the potential benefits of hybrid fibers. This article examines the effects of different PVA fibers (thick and thin) and steel fibers (straight ...

Integrated mechanics for the passive damping of polymer-matrix composites and composite structures [PDF]

open access: yes
Some recent developments on integrated damping mechanics for unidirectional composites, laminates, and composite structures are reviewed. Simplified damping micromechanics relate the damping of on-axis and off-axis composites to constituent properties ...

Analysis of textile composite structures with finite Volume-p-Elements [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Anisotropic textile composites show nonlinear deformation and complex fai- lure behaviour. In particular three-dimensional reinforced textile composites are characterised by an orthotropic material behaviour. To achieve the full po- tential of textile

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐
