Overriding plate thickness control on subducting plate curvature [PDF]

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2015
AbstractSubducting plate (SP) curvature exerts a key control on the amount of bending dissipation associated with subduction, and the magnitude of the subduction‐resisting bending force. However, the factors controlling the development of SP curvature are not well understood.

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Free Vibration Analysis of Thick Rectangular and Elliptical Plates with Concentric Cut-Out

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2021
This research paper deals with a numerical method which is modified and applied, by the authors to derive an eigenvalue of a thick plate having cut-out in which geometries of plate and cut-outs are different, through a deflection matching condition by ...

The exact theory for scattering of waves by thick holes in a slab and other objects with non-separable geometries [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The theory for scattering of electromagnetic waves is developed for scattering objects for which the natural modes of the field inside the object do not couple one-to-one with those outside the scatterer.

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

A higher order triangular plate finite element using Airy functions

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2020
The present paper describes the formulation of a new moderately thick plate bending triangular finite element based on Mindlin–Reissner plate theory. It is called a Great Triangular Moderately Thick Plate Finite Element, or GTMTPFE.

Trigonometric solution for an exponentially graded thick plate resting on elastic foundations [PDF]

open access: yesArchive of Mechanical Engineering, 2018
This article investigates the solution of exponentially graded (EG) thick rectangular plates resting on two-parameter elastic foundations according to a trigonometric plate theory (TPT).

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.
