Fluid Biomarkers of Disease Burden and Cognitive Dysfunction in Progressive Supranuclear Palsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Identifying objective biomarkers for progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) is crucial to improving diagnosis and establishing clinical trial and treatment endpoints. This study evaluated fluid biomarkers in PSP versus controls and their associations with regional 18F‐PI‐2620 tau‐PET, clinical, and cognitive outcomes.

The Linear Vibrational Behavior of Thick Plates Including the Effects of Shear and Rotary Inertia

open access: yesمجلة النهرين للعلوم الهندسية, 2010
In this work, a suggested analytical solution for static and dynamic analysis of (fiber-reinforced) composite laminated thick plate is developed by using the single layer theory and first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT) theory.

Natural vibrations of thick circular plate based on the modified Mindlin theory

open access: yesArchives of Mechanics, 2014
Outline of the modified Mindlin theory is presented in which the Mindlin mathematical model with three differential equations of motion for total deflection and rotations is decomposed into a single equation for pure bending vibrations with transverse ...

Low-temperature muon spin rotation studies of the monopole charges and currents in Y doped Ho2Ti2O7 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In the ground state of Ho2Ti2O7 spin ice, the disorder of the magnetic moments follows the same rules as the proton disorder in water ice. Excitations take the form of magnetic monopoles that interact via a magnetic Coulomb interaction.

One dimensional modelling of failure in laminated plates by delamination buckling [PDF]

open access: yes, 1981
When low speed objects impact composite laminated plates delamination may result. Under inplane compression such delaminations may buckle and tend to enlarge the delaminated area which can lead to loss of global plate stability.
