Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Effects of different densities of Isochrysis aff. galbana and Chaetoceros calcitrans on some growth parameters and survival rate of winged pearl oyster spat, Pteria penguin [PDF]

open access: yesبوم‌شناسی آبزیان, 2016
The growth performance and survival rate of spats of winged pearl oyster (Pteria penguin) fed with two microalgae, Isochrysis aff. galbana and Chaetoceros calcitrans, as well as the combination of both species over a period of 60 days, was evaluated. The

Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Double Laser for Depth Measurement of Thin Films of Ice

open access: yesSensors, 2015
The use of thin films is extensive in both science and industry. We have created an experimental system that allows us to measure the thicknesses of thin films (with typical thicknesses of around 1 µm) in real time without the need for any prior ...

Microwave inductance of thin metal strips

open access: yes, 2010
We have measured the frequency-dependent, complex impedance of thin metal strips in a broad range of microwave frequencies (45~MHz to 20~GHz). The spectra are in good agreement with theoretical predictions of an RCL model. The resistance, inductance, and

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Chlorophyll and growth performance of biological sand-fixing materials inoculated on sandy desert surface

open access: yesPhotosynthetica
Desert biocrusts play an important role in the control of desertification and artificial inoculation can promote the formation and development of biocrusts.

Interaction of the Electromagnetic p-Waves with Thin Metal Films

open access: yes, 2010
For the first time it is shown that for thin metallic films thickness of which not exceed thickness of skin-layer, the problem allows analytical solution for arbitrary boundary value problems.

Dietary nitrate and nitrite protect against doxorubicin‐induced cardiac fibrosis and oxidative protein damage in tumor‐bearing mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemotherapies such as doxorubicin can have toxic effects on healthy cardiovascular/heart tissue. Following up on a doxorubicin toxicity study in mice without tumors where nitrate water was cardioprotective (lessened toxicity), this study with tumor‐bearing mice undergoing doxorubicin treatment showed no negative effect of nitrate and nitrite on drug ...

Thickness Study of Er-Doped Magnesium Zinc Oxide Diode by Spray Pyrolysis

open access: yesCrystals, 2018
Erbium-doped magnesium zinc oxides were prepared through spray pyrolysis deposition at 450 °C with an aqueous solution containing magnesium nitrate, zinc acetate, erbium acetate, and indium nitrate precursors.
