Tumor and germline testing with next generation sequencing in epithelial ovarian cancer: a prospective paired comparison using an 18‐gene panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Genetic testing in epithelial ovarian cancer includes both germline and tumor‐testing. This approach often duplicates resources. The current prospective study assessed the feasibility of tumor‐first multigene testing by comparing tumor tissue with germline testing of peripheral blood using an 18‐gene NGS panel in 106 patients.

Thickness variations in electrolytes for planar solid oxide fuel cells

open access: yesJournal of Asian Ceramic Societies, 2019
Shape uniformity is one of the key factors for determining the performance of planar solid oxide fuel cells. Three parameters must be considered to acquire a full picture of shape uniformity: the extent of warpage, surface roughness and thickness ...

A weekly Arctic sea-ice thickness data record from merged CryoSat-2 and SMOS satellite data

open access: yes, 2017
. Sea-ice thickness on a global scale is derived from different satellite sensors using independent retrieval methods. Due to the sensor and orbit characteristics, such satellite retrievals differ in spatial and temporal resolution as well as in the ...

Screening for lung cancer: A systematic review of overdiagnosis and its implications

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low‐dose computed tomography (CT) screening for lung cancer may increase overdiagnosis compared to no screening, though the risk is likely low versus chest X‐ray. Our review of 8 trials (84 660 participants) shows added costs. Further research with strict adherence to modern nodule management strategies may help determine the extent to which ...

Thickness conditions and Littlewood--Paley sets

open access: yes, 2013
We consider sets in the real line that have Littlewood--Paley properties $\mathrm{LP}(p)$ or $\mathrm{LP}$ and study the following question: How thick can these sets be?Comment: 15 pages, v2 has minor modifications to improve clarity, typos ...

Effect of chemotherapy on passenger mutations in metastatic colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Changes in passenger mutation load and predicted immunotherapy response after chemotherapy treatment. Tumor cells rich with passenger mutations have increased sensitivity to chemotherapy. Correlation of passenger mutations with neoantigen load suggests highly mutated clones promote a more effective response to immunotherapy, and therefore, first‐line ...

Optimal Design, Reliability And Sensitivity Analysis Of Foundation Plate

open access: yesTransactions of the VŠB: Technical University of Ostrava, Civil Engineering Series, 2015
This paper deals with the optimal design of thickness of a plate rested on Winkler’s foundation. First order method was used for the optimization, while maintaining different restrictive conditions. The aim is to obtain a minimum volume of the foundation
