Functional thin films on surfaces
The motion of a thin viscous film of fluid on a curved surface exhibits many intricate visual phenomena, which are challenging to simulate using existing techniques. A possible alternative is to use a reduced model, involving only the temporal evolution of the mass density of the film on the surface.

The corrosion performance of AlSi7Mg and AlSi10Mg alloys produced through selective laser melting (SLM) was examined under compressive stress in a chloride environment. Electrochemical analyses, including open‐circuit potential (OCP), potentiodynamic polarization (CPP), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), were complemented by scanning ...

This study demonstrates an efficient recycling route for out‐of‐spec AlSi10Mg atomized powders through compaction and arc remelting followed by suction casting. By correlating compaction load, cooling rate, and resulting microstructure, we show that intermediate pressures (50–80 kN) and rapid cooling refine dendrites, reduce porosity, and enhance ...

Effect of Annealing Temperature On Iron Doped Titanium Dioxide Thin Films Prepared By Spin Coating Technique [PDF]
Iron (Fe) doped titanium dioxide (TiO2) thin films have been successfully deposited by using spin coating technique. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) were employed to characterize the microstructure and crystallite ...

Antiferromagnetic Oxide Thin Films for Spintronic Applications
Antiferromagnetic oxides have recently gained much attention because of the possibility to manipulate electrically and optically the Néel vectors in these materials. Their ultrafast spin dynamics, long spin diffusion length and immunity to large magnetic

A study of electrostatically sprayed CuInS2 and ZnS thin films [PDF]
The investigation of ternary compounds for the fabrication of thin film solar cells is well documented but the production of thin films by electrostatic spray deposition (ESD) is still limited.

Propagation dynamics of mixed-pattern solitons in strongly nonlocal nonlinear media
This paper mainly investigated the propagation dynamics of the mixed-pattern solitons in strongly nonlocal nonlinear media. The propagation expression of the mixed-pattern soliton is derived, and its propagation characteristics are analyzed, including ...
