Toxicokinetics and toxicity of thioacetamide sulfoxide: a metabolite of thioacetamide
Toxicology, 2007Thioacetamide (TA) is bioactivated by CYP2E1 to TA sulfoxide (TASO), and to the highly reactive sulfdioxide (TASO(2)), which initiates hepatic necrosis by covalent binding. Previously, we have established that TA exhibits saturation toxicokinetics over a 12-fold dose range, which explains the lack of dose-response for bioactivation-based liver injury ...

Inhibition of δ-aminolevulinic acid synthetase by thioacetamide and thioacetamide-S-oxide
Biochemical Pharmacology, 1978Abstract Thiocetamide and one of its metabolites, thioacetamide- S -oxide, were shown to inhibit δ-aminolevulinic acid (ALA) synthetase when administered in vivo to adult male mice. Thioacetamide and thioacetamide- S -oxide also inhibited the 3,5-dicarboethoxy-1,4-dihydrocollidine (DDC)-mediated induction of ALA synthetase when given either 1hr ...

Selection of albumin mRNA by thioacetamide
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1976Summary After thioacetamide administration to rats, most of the labeled aminoacids incorporated into liver proteins are recovered in polypeptides with the same mobility as rat-serum albumin, which can be selectively immunoprecipitated by anti-rat albumin serum.

Argentomctric coulomelric titration of thioacetamide
Talanta, 1968The coulometric determination of thioacetamide (TAA) with electrogenerated silver is described. The titration is done in a solution 0.1M in both ammonia and sodium hydroxide, and the end-point is detected potentiometncally with a silver-silver sulphide electrode. On repeat analyses of approx.

Thioacetamide-Induced Hepatocarcinoma in Rat
Oncology, 2009Out of 56 thioacetamide (TAA)-fed rats hepatocellular carcinoma were found in four instances after 300, 360, 450 and 495 days in the present experiment. Of the four tumours, two showed lung metastasis. The size of TAA-treated hepatocyte nucleoli increased greatly after several weeks of feeding.
