Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Preoperative circulating tumor cells integrated with imaging analysis for prognostic evaluation in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Detecting circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in blood before surgery may help predict outcomes in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Here, we show when combined with tumor size and lymph node involvement from routine imaging, CTC status identifies high‐risk patients with poorer survival—offering a simple, minimally invasive tool ...

Vitamin D impedes eosinophil chemotaxis via inhibiting glycolysis-induced CCL26 expression in eosinophilic chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps

open access: yesCell Communication and Signaling
Background Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) is likely to relapse due to aberrant eosinophil infiltration. The deficiency of Vitamin D (VD) is associated with increased eosinophil infiltration in eosinophilic oesophagitis.

Identification and validation of an immune-related prognostic signature and key gene in papillary thyroid carcinoma

open access: yesCancer Cell International, 2021
Background Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) is the most common pathological type of thyroid cancer. The effect of traditional anti-tumor therapy is not ideal for the patients with recurrence, metastasis and radioiodine resistance.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

H3K4Me1-mediated IGF2BP1 expression aggravates tumor immune evasion and paclitaxel resistance in nasopharyngeal carcinoma

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Medical Research
Background Our previous study indicated that IGF2BP1 involves in the regulation of resistance in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) to paclitaxel. The objective of this study is to clarify the molecular mechanisms. Methods H3K4Me1 modification at the IGF2BP1

Artificial Intelligence and Mental Well‐Being in Adult Education: Implications for Practice and Professional Responsibility

open access: yesNew Directions for Adult and Continuing Education, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mental well‐being is central to adult learner success, yet many adult education institutions lack capacity to provide timely and accessible support. This article examines how artificial intelligence (AI) can strengthen mental health–adjacent supports in adult and continuing higher education, with attention to professional practice and ...
