Cognitive Impairment in Multiple Sclerosis: The Role of Clinical and Sociodemographic Factors ‐ A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Cognitive impairment (CI) affects the quality of life in multiple sclerosis (MS). Identifying influencing factors is key to improving CI monitoring. This systematic review and meta‐analysis examines clinical and sociodemographic variables impacting the cognitive screening Symbol Digit Modalities Test (SDMT) performance across MS ...

The Impact of Tilburg Frailty on Poststroke Fatigue in First‐Ever Stroke Patients: A Cross‐Sectional Study With Unified Measurement Tools and Improved Statistics

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Poststroke fatigue (PSF) and frailty share substantial overlap in their manifestations, yet previous research has yielded conflicting results due to the use of heterogeneous frailty assessment tools. Objective To evaluate the independent impact of frailty on PSF using a unified measurement system (Tilburg Frailty Indicator, TFI ...

Third order optical nonlinearity of graphene

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2014
We perform a perturbative calculation of the third order optical conductivities of doped graphene, using approximations valid around the Dirac points and neglecting effects due to scattering and electron–electron interactions.

Expanding Hereditary Spastic Paraplegias Limits: Biallelic SPAST Variants in Cerebral Palsy Mimics

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Hereditary spastic paraplegias (HSP) are rare neurodegenerative disorders marked by spasticity and lower limb weakness. The most common type, SPG4, is usually autosomal dominant and caused by SPAST gene variants, typically presenting as pure HSP.

Diffusion Tractography Biomarker for Epilepsy Severity in Children With Drug‐Resistant Epilepsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To develop a novel deep‐learning model of clinical DWI tractography that can accurately predict the general assessment of epilepsy severity (GASE) in pediatric drug‐resistant epilepsy (DRE) and test if it can screen diverse neurocognitive impairments identified through neuropsychological assessments.

Existence of solutions to a third-order multi-point problem on time scales

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2007
We are concerned with the existence and form of solutions to nonlinear third-order three-point and multi-point boundary-value problems on general time scales.

Optimisation of a Third Order System

open access: yesMeasurement + Control, 1971
A general algebraic method of optimising a third order system is presented. The method consists of extending Pontryagin's Maximum Principle to the infinite interval case and reducing the characteristic two point boundary value problem to that of the ...

A THIRD ORDER CORRECTION TO THE HELMHOLTZ EQUATION

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2005
In this work we derive a third order correction to the classical Helmholtz equation. Starting from non-linear Euler equations and using asymptotical analysis we get a decoupled system of linear, Helmholtz type equations, which are written in terms of the acoustical pressure functions.
