Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

The Game Between Quality Induction and Traffic Constraint: A Non-Linear Threshold Study of Park Travel Carbon Emissions from an Urban–Rural Differentiation Perspective

open access: yesBuildings
As global decarbonization strategies pivot towards the burgeoning sector of recreational mobility, the tension between the attractive force of high-quality amenities and the constraining capacity of transport infrastructure in urban parks has emerged as ...

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Spatial differentiation and driving mechanisms of the Water-Energy-Food-Carbon coupling coordination degree in China

open access: yesShui kexue jinzhan
Dual Carbon Goals and resource constraints make it important to understand the evolutionary characteristics and driving mechanisms of the Water-Energy-Food-Carbon(WEFC) nexus. We propose a spatially adaptive coupling evaluation(SPACE) model that combines

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Inhibition of cyclin‐dependent kinases 12/13 using CT7439 as a treatment for colorectal cancer with CDK12 upregulation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The proposed mechanism of action for the CDK12/13 inhibitor and cyclin K degrader, CT7439. CDK12/13 inhibition interrupts transcription elongation, leading to increased DNA damage that results in cell death. This agent is a potentially novel treatment option for patients with colorectal cancer. Created in BioRender. Cyclin‐dependent kinase (CDK) 12 and

Trade-Offs or Synergy? Unraveling the Coupling Mechanisms and Critical Thresholds in the Food-Water-Land-Ecosystem Nexus

open access: yesLand
Balancing ecological conservation with agricultural production in protected areas remains a critical challenge, particularly regarding the nexus of food, water, land, and ecosystems (FWLE).
