Development of emergent processes and threshold of consciousness with levels of processing
IntroductionThe transition of experience from unconscious to conscious, the emergent process, is a crucial topic in consciousness studies. Three frameworks exist to explain the process: (1) consciousness arises in an all-or-none manner; (2) consciousness arises gradually; (3) consciousness arises either all at once or gradually, depending on the level ...

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN EXPORTS AND ECONOMIC GROWTH IN EAST ASIAN COUNTRIES: A MULTIVARIATE THRESHOLD AUTOREGRESSIVE APPROACH [PDF]
During the process of economic development, different economic policies are adopted in accordance with particular circumstances. Therefore, conventional methods of time-series analysis may give misleading results if the problems associated with regime ...

An Erlang multirate loss model supporting elastic traffic under the threshold policy
In this paper, we propose a multirate teletraffic loss model of a single link with certain bandwidth capacity that accommodates Poisson arriving calls, which can tolerate bandwidth compression (elastic traffic), under the threshold policy.

Transcranial magnetic stimulation reveals two cortical pathways for visual body processing [PDF]
Visual recognition of human bodies is more difficult for upside down than upright presentations. This body inversion effect implies that body perception relies on configural rather than local processing.

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

An auto-focus algorithm based on maximum gradient and threshold
In order to overcome the disadvantages of the traditional auto-focus algorithms which are poor in real-time performance, weak in anti-noise capability and vulnerable to the influence of contrast and background pixels, this paper proposes an auto-focus ...
