Obtaining Thresholds for the Effectiveness of Business Process Mining [PDF]

open access: yes2011 International Symposium on Empirical Software Engineering and Measurement, 2011
Business process mining is a powerful tool to retrieve the valuable business knowledge embedded in existing information systems. The effectiveness of this kind of proposal is usually evaluated using recall and precision, which respectively measure the completeness and exactness of the retrieved business processes.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Photoionization processes in NO in the threshold region

open access: yesChemical Physics Letters, 1997
The photoion excitation spectrum of NO has been measured in the 9.26-13.8 eV region using synchrotron light and the isotopic targets 14N160, 15N160 and 15N180.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

A Study on RGB Image Multi-Thresholding using Kapur/Tsallis Entropy and Moth-Flame Algorithm.

open access: yesInternational Journal of Interactive Multimedia and Artificial Intelligence, 2021
In the literature, a considerable number of image processing and evaluation procedures are proposed and implemented in various domains due to their practical importance. Thresholding is one of the pre-processing techniques, widely implemented to enhance

Queuing Theoretic Analysis of Power-performance Tradeoff in Power-efficient Computing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper we study the power-performance relationship of power-efficient computing from a queuing theoretic perspective. We investigate the interplay of several system operations including processing speed, system on/off decisions, and server farm ...

Broadcasting on Random Directed Acyclic Graphs

open access: yes, 2020
We study a generalization of the well-known model of broadcasting on trees. Consider a directed acyclic graph (DAG) with a unique source vertex $X$, and suppose all other vertices have indegree $d\geq 2$.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Influence of Polymer Processing on the Double Electrical Percolation Threshold in PLA/PCL/GNP Nanocomposites

open access: yesSensors, 2022
For the first time, the double electrical percolation threshold was obtained in polylactide (PLA)/polycaprolactone (PCL)/graphene nanoplatelet (GNP) composite systems, prepared by compression moulding and fused filament fabrication (FFF).

Towards practical classical processing for the surface code

open access: yes, 2012
The surface code is unarguably the leading quantum error correction code for 2-D nearest neighbor architectures, featuring a high threshold error rate of approximately 1%, low overhead implementations of the entire Clifford group, and flexible ...
