YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Designated Verifier Threshold Proxy Signature Scheme without Random Oracles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In a $(t,n)$ designated verifier threshold proxy signature \, scheme, an original signer can delegate his/her signing power to $n$ proxy signers such that any $t$ or more out of $n$ proxy signers can sign messages on behalf of the original signer but $t ...

Pharmacological inhibition of the PERK pathway modulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth and immune signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

An Undetachable Threshold Digital Signature Scheme Based on Conic Curves

open access: yes, 2013
Based on analysis of security problems on malicious hosts, a special undetachable threshold digital signature scheme is proposed. This scheme uses a cryptosystem based on conic curves and achieves the most important security characteristic of protecting ...

Early‐life high‐fat diet exposure increases Achilles tendon stiffness and induces transcriptomic alterations

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Fault detection design for RUAV with an adaptive threshold neural-network scheme

open access: yes, 2007
This paper describes recent research on system design of a small-scaled rotorcraft UAV (RUAV) system and a control scheme for model-scaled helicopter. The small-scaled UAV helicopter is to be designed as a test bed for the implementation of new nonlinear

RoundMi: A quantitative method to analyze mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
RoundMi is a workflow for rapid analysis of mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells. By combining adaptive preprocessing with automated segmentation and quantification, it enables accurate measurements from single focal plane images, reducing acquisition time and computational demands while remaining compatible with high‐throughput fixed and live ...

threshold ring signature scheme based on tpm

open access: yes, 2012
The conventional ring signature schemes cannot address the scenario where the rank of members of the ring needs to be distinguished, for example, in electronically commerce application.

A Dynamic Threshold Decryption Scheme Using Bilinear Pairings

open access: yes, 2020
A dynamic threshold sharing scheme is one that allows the set of participants to expand and contract. In this work we discuss dynamic threshold decryption schemes using bilinear pairing.

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.
