A New Soft-Thresholding Image Denoising Method
In this paper, we propose a new method of noise removal from an image corrupted with Gaussian noise using soft-thresholding. There are two types of thresholding: Soft and Hard thresholding. The Universal thresholding method i.e.

Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

CVTresh: R Package for Level-Dependent Cross-Validation Thresholding
The core of the wavelet approach to nonparametric regression is thresholding of wavelet coefficients. This paper reviews a cross-validation method for the selection of the thresholding value in wavelet shrinkage of Oh, Kim, and Lee (2006), and introduces

An improvement in the moment-preserving thresholding method
[[abstract]]Thresholding is frequently used for image segmentation. One of the most popular approach to thresholding is the moment-preserving thresholding method proposed by Tsai in 1985.

This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have

Adaptive Wavelet Estimation: A Block Thresholding And Oracle Inequality Approach
We study wavelet function estimation via the approach of block thresholding and ideal adaptation with oracle. Oracle inequalities are derived to offer insights into the balance and tradeoff between block size and threshold level.

Many patients with urothelial cancer do not benefit from treatment with pembrolizumab, while at risk of severe side effects. Changes in the levels of circulating tumor DNA early during treatment, measured by a simple and affordable assay that can be easily implemented in the clinic, can be used as a prognostic tool to identify these patients.
