Linearly polarized thulium doped all-fiber laser

We report an all-fiber, linearly polarized Thulium doped fiber laser operating at 1950 nm. In the experiment, as high as 14.2 Watts power is generated from the laser with slope efficiency of 48.4%.

All-fiber thulium-doped fiber ring laser with in-band pumping

A continuous-wave thulium-doped fiber laser at around 1.9 μm has been demonstrated in all-fiber ring configuration. Single-wavelength and multi-wavelength lasing has been observed at different lengths of the doped fiber in the filterless configuration.

Ultrafast thulium-doped fiber laser mode locked with black phosphorus

We report, for the first time to our knowledge, the usage of black phosphorus (BP) as a saturable absorber for the mode locking of a thulium-doped fiber laser. We have experimentally shown that BP exhibits saturable absorption in the 2 μm wavelength range and supports ultrashort pulse generation.

Efficient double-clad thulium-doped fiber laser with a ring cavity

We have constructed a novel ring cavity for a double-clad thulium-doped fiber laser, by placing the fiber's 45 degrees angle-polished output end before the input end and relaunching the pump and the laser power into the fiber. This design can reduce reabsorption by using short fibers without loss of pump efficiency.

Laser-Induced Efficiency Improvement for Thulium-doped Fiber Laser Systems

In this paper it is shown that pumping at the excited state of Thulium high-power fibers leads to a significant cooling and efficiency improvement. Nearly a factor 2 higher efficiency is expected with this technique.
