From energy provision to protein synthesis: Tunnelling nanotubes as mediators of intercellular metabolic cooperation in cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The cytoskeleton‐mediated transport of mitochondria via tunnelling nanotubes restores respiration, increases ATP production, rescues cells from apoptosis, activates the AKT/mTOR signalling pathway, promotes cell migration and invasiveness, contributes to cancer progression and treatment resistance.

Challenges of temperature-dependent emission spectra measurement of thulium-doped fibers around 2 µm [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
Understanding temperature’s impact on spectroscopic properties in high-power thulium-doped fiber lasers is crucial for accurate numerical modeling. Our study discusses influence of thulium concentration and temperature-induced bend losses on emission ...

Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) in a Patient With Compound Heterozygous OPA1 Variants: Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) is a rare, life‐threatening neurological emergency with unclear etiology in many cases. Mitochondrial dysfunction, often due to disease‐causing genetic variants, is increasingly recognized as a cause, with each gene producing distinct pathophysiological mechanisms.

Thulium-Doped Silica Fibers with Enhanced Fluorescence Lifetime and Their Application in Ultrafast Fiber Lasers

open access: yesFibers, 2018
In this work we report on the thulium-doped silica-based optical fibers with increased fluorescence lifetime of the 3F4 level thanks to the modification of the local environment of thulium ions by high content of alumina.

Functional and Structural Evidence of Neurofluid Circuit Aberrations in Huntington Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Disrupted neurofluid regulation may contribute to neurodegeneration in Huntington disease (HD). Because neurofluid pathways influence waste clearance, inflammation, and the distribution of central nervous system (CNS)–delivered therapeutics, understanding their dysfunction is increasingly important as targeted treatments emerge.

RESEARCH OF THE INFLUENCE OF IMPURITIES DYSPROSIUM AND THULIUM ON THE LUMINESCENCE OF SOLID SOLUTIONS Y1– xYb x Al3(BO3)4

open access: yesВестник Северо-Кавказского федерального университета, 2022
Has established the dependence of the intensity of IR-luminescence of polydisperce solid solutions Y1–xYbxAl3(BO3)4 on the ion concentration of dysprosium and thulium.

High-power slab-based Tm:YLF laser for in-band pumping of Ho:YAG

open access: yes, 2008
Several remote sensing applications require pulsed sources in the mid-infrared spectral regime with high average powers and good beam quality. Ho:YAG lasers have a number of attractive features for high power generation at 2.1 microns, either for direct ...

Efficacy of Intermittent Theta‐Burst Stimulation for Prolonged Disorders of Consciousness: A Prospective, Randomized, Controlled Trial

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Emerging evidence suggests that low‐frequency neural oscillations are dynamically regulated by consciousness levels, with the recovery of low cortical activity potentially serving as a neurophysiological substrate for conscious emergence. Targeted enhancement of these low‐frequency rhythms in patients with disorders of consciousness

Conservative management of upper tract urothelial carcinoma with endoscopic thulium laser ablation: A retrospective study with subgroup analyses

open access: yesUrological Science, 2020
Purpose: The gold standard treatment for upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC) is radical nephroureterectomy. The combination of ureterorenoscopy and laser ablation has recently become more accepted. This study aims at investigating the risk factors of
