Bidirectional mode-locked thulium-doped fiber laser
Applied Optics, 2018We report a bidirectional mode-locked thulium-doped fiber laser. Mode-locking is enabled by the combination of semiconductor saturable absorption and nonlinear polarization rotation. Two stable mode-locked picosecond pulse trains in opposite directions are generated with a fundamental repetition rate of ∼16.57 MHz.

High-power widely tunable thulium fiber lasers
Applied Optics, 2010Applications requiring long-range atmospheric propagation are driving the development of high-power thulium fiber lasers. We report on the performance of two different laser configurations for high-power tunable thulium fiber lasers: one is a single oscillator utilizing a volume Bragg grating for wavelength stabilization; the other is a master ...

QCW thulium fiber laser for medical application
2016 International Conference Laser Optics (LO), 2016New compact thulium fiber laser module is presented. Module operates in millisecond-pulse mode with peak power up to 500W, average power up to 50W, and pulse energy up to 5J. The module is air-cooled and can be easily integrated in laser system.

Thulium fiber laser with wavelength 1908 nm
Journal of Optical Technology, 2017This paper presents the results of developing a thulium fiber laser with output power 38 W and wavelength 1908 nm. The active fiber thus developed and fabricated has high thulium-ion concentration, which significantly increases the efficiency of the laser because of the cross-relaxation effect.
