The Heart of the Thymus: A Rare Tale of Nonischemic Cardiomyopathy in the Absence of Myasthenia Gravis. [PDF]

open access: yesClin Case Rep
ABSTRACT Thymomas are rare epithelial tumors of the anterior mediastinum known for their association with autoimmune and paraneoplastic syndromes, most notably myasthenia gravis (MG). Cardiomyopathy is an exceptionally rare paraneoplastic manifestation.

Western Diet Combined With Chemical Induction: A Strategy for Rapid Development of MASLD Pathology in Mice

open access: yesiNew Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The molecular mechanisms underlying the development of metabolic‐dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) are essential for developing appropriate treatments. The purpose of this study was to establish an MASLD model in mice with rapid and consistent progression.

Carcinoma Showing Thymus-Like Differentiation (CASTLE) of Thyroid: A Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesKaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, 2008
Carcinoma showing thymus-like differentiation (CASTLE) is a rare malignant neoplasm that occurs in the thyroid gland, or head and neck. This tumor arises from either ectopic thymus tissue or remnants of branchial pouches, which retain the potential to ...

Holistic bone developing microenvironment engineered apoptotic extracellular vesicles recapitulate multidimensional developmental signatures in adult and senile bone repair

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
The developing bone was identified as an M2a‐like macrophage driven immune microenvironment with multidimensional developmental signatures. hME‐ApoEVs were successfully fabricated via stimulating the M2a‐like developing microenvironment in vitro and confirmed its recapitulation of developmental features.

Potent monoclonal antibodies against multidrug‐resistant hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
A novel immunization strategy using a low‐virulence, multidrug‐resistant strain yields synergistic monoclonal antibodies against hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae. These antibodies provide cross‐serotype protection through a dual‐mechanism of pathogen clearance and immunomodulation, offering a promising non‐antibiotic therapeutic for resistant ...

Rare But Risky: Clinical Impacts of Pneumothorax After Thyroidectomy and Parathyroidectomy

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, EarlyView.
Postoperative pneumothorax (PPTX) is rare after thyroidectomy or parathyroidectomy, occurring in up to 0.10% of cases. However, it is associated with increased risks of all‐cause mortality, adverse respiratory events, and healthcare utilization rates in up to 1 year after surgery, deeming PPTX as a potential marker of increased postoperative ...

THE THERAPEUTIC USES OF THE THYMUS GLAND. [PDF]

open access: yesJAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1900
Mr. President and Gentlemen: —It is always a pleasure to meet my colleagues of the New York County Medical Association. I only regret that what I have to offer for your consideration is not very satisfactory. If at the close of my remarks you shall think that they have been vague and inconclusive, even contradictory, I shall have left on your minds a ...

Data‐Independent Acquisition Mass Spectrometry in Tumor Classification and Cancer Biomarker Research

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
Abstract Cancer treatment is far from optimal also because current classification systems do not reflect the complex molecular status of the tumor and its phenotype in sufficient detail. To construct molecular tumor classifiers, omics tools provide complex molecular data reflecting many aspects from genotype to phenotype.

Osteoarthritis: An Immuno‐Inflammatory Disease‐Mechanisms of Immune Cell Dysregulation and Potential Therapeutic Strategies

open access: yesMed Research, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the immuno‐inflammatory mechanisms driving the pathogenesis of osteoarthritis (OA), extending beyond the traditional view of OA as a purely degenerative disease to incorporate immune cell infiltration, inflammatory factor release, and the formation of a chronic low‐grade inflammatory microenvironment.
