Polyphenol composition and biological activity of Thymus citriodorus and Thymus vulgaris: Comparison with endemic Iberian Thymus species [PDF]

open access: yesFood Chemistry, 2020
The polyphenol compositions of Thymus × citriodorus and Thymus vulgaris extracts as obtained by exhaustive hydroethanolic (HE) extraction and aqueous decoction (AD) were compared. In addition, their compositions and bioactivities were compared to those of Thymus pulegioides and Thymus mastichina, grown under the same edaphoclimatic conditions, and ...

Integrated Clinical Trial and Molecular Profiling Reveals Immune Drivers of Chronic Hand Eczema

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
This study performed an unbiased molecular profiling of CHE patients across diverse etiologies to identify shared pathogenic drivers and evaluate the impact of IL‐4Rα blockade via dupilumab over 16 weeks. CHE shows a mixed immune signature involving type 1, 2, and 3 pathways with features of atopic dermatitis and psoriasis.

Shrubs and trees as natural insect protection for grazing animals in Switzerland and the alpine region: A systematic review of in vitro, in vivo and clinical trials Sträucher und Bäume als natürlicher Insektenschutz für Weidetiere in der Schweiz und im Alpenraum: Eine systematische Literaturübersicht über in vitro‐, in vivo‐ und klinische Studien

open access: yesMedical and Veterinary Entomology, EarlyView.
Biting or irritating insects are a threat to the health and welfare of grazing animals. This systematic review reveals that several shrubs and bushes growing in the alpine area have insecticidal, insect‐repellent and/or attractant properties. The alder Alnus glutinosa, juniper Juniperus communis, spruce Picea abies and walnut Juglans regia are ...

Physiological and Molecular Aspects of Two Thymus Species Differently Sensitive to Drought Stress

open access: yesBioTech, 2022
Drought is one of the most important threats to plants and agriculture. Here, the effects of four drought levels (90%, 55%, 40%, and 25% field capacity) on the relative water content (RWC), chlorophyll and carotenoids levels, and mRNA gene expression of ...
