Ferromagnetically Shielded Fault Current Limiter (FS‐FCL) Evaluation in Power Line
This study introduces a new ferromagnetically shielded FS‐FCL design and its control strategy for limiting and interrupting fault currents. The fully shielded core structure enhances inductance and prevents saturation, enabling an immediate fault response without causing voltage drop during normal conditions.

Multi‐Layer MTDC Protection: Design and Simulation Assessment
This study proposes a novel multi‐layer protection architecture for multi‐terminal DC systems that separates fault current‐limiting and interruption functions. By combining a thyristor‐based fault current limiter with an active resonance circuit breaker, the scheme significantly reduces peak fault currents and di/dt stress, enabling a more compact ...

Research on Equivalent Circuit Model of HVDC Valve and Calculation of Thyristor Junction Temperature
For the difference of thyristor junction temperature at all levels in the transducer valve assembly in the series water circuit, an equivalent model of thyristor junction temperature calculation for the valve assembly is established, and PLECS simulation

This paper proposes a non‐contact method for measuring the turn‐off time of insulated‐gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) devices in modular multilevel converters (MMC) submodules, using the decay of load‐side common‐mode current. The technique leverages existing current‐sensing infrastructure and avoids intrusive modifications, enabling real‐time ...

Diagnostics of the thyristor bridge fault based on the detection of the line-frequency second harmonic in the output current of an AC/DC converter [PDF]
In this paper was presented the technical procedure implemented for the fault diagnostics of the thyristor bridge in an AS/DC converter. During the development of the new generation of digital controllers for AC/DC converters, it was required for these ...

Fast-Read Storage Performance by Thyristor Operation in 3-D Flash Memory
In this work, we report the fast-read storage performance of thyristor operation in 3D flash memory. By forming a pseudo N+/P/N/P+ structure with the word line (WL) bias of 3D string cells, thyristor operation with steep switching characteristics and a ...
