ObjectiveWe analysed the diagnostic performance of thyroglobulin in fine-needle aspiration (FNA-Tg) in the suspicious lateral cervical lymph nodes (CLNs) in patients with papillary thyroid cancer (PTC), proposed the best cutoff value and discussed the ...

ABSTRACT After total thyroidectomy for pediatric differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC), the subsequent radioactive iodine (RAI) treatment is a robust therapy, the dosing of which is a major concern. This study was designed to evaluate the “as high as safe administration” (AHASA) principle of RAI treatment in pediatric DTC patients based on the maximum ...

Measuring thyroglobulin concentrations in patients with differentiated thyroid carcinoma [PDF]
Thyroid carcinomas are the most common malignant endocrine tumors. Thyroglobulin (Tg), a specific thyroid protein, is the most important tumor marker in thyroid oncology. After total thyroidectomy or radioiodine therapy, detectable or increasing serum Tg

Abstract Aims Iodine and selenium are important nutrients for thyroid function; however, the New Zealand food supply is generally low in both minerals. Bread can be a good source of these minerals; although the popularity of lower carbohydrate diets means some people avoid bread. This study aimed to investigate the effect of low bread intakes on iodine

Circadian Gene BMAL1 Regulation of Cellular Senescence in Thyroid Aging
BMAL1 downregulation during aging reduces NFKBIA expression, accelerating thyroid cellular senescence and impairing hormone synthesis. Circadian rhythm disruption exacerbates thyroid functional decline, highlighting the BMAL1‐NFKBIA axis as a key mediator of aging‐related thyroid dysfunction and offering insights for stabilizing thyroid health in aging

Thyroglobulin (Tg) is secreted by thyroid follicular cells and stored in the thyroid follicular lumen as a component of thyroid hormone. It is known that both benign and well-differentiated malignant thyroid tissue can secrete Tg.

THE ULTRASTRUCTURE OF HUMAN THYROGLOBULIN [PDF]
Thyroglobulin molecules purified in a single step procedure by gel filtration were studied in the electron microscope using the negative staining technique. The molecule had the shape of a flexible helix with two turns. Its length was about 220 A and the maximal diameter of the coiled part of the molecule was estimated to be 110 A.

ANTI-THYROGLOBULIN ANTIBODIES IN PATIENTS WITH AUTOIMMUNE THYROIDITIS DURING L-THYROXINE TREATMENT
. The presence of anti-thyroglobulin antibodies (AbTg) and their epitope specificity were investigated in sera of healthy people and patients with autoimmune thyroiditis (before and after L-thyroxine treatment). In sera samples AbTg were detected. It was
