Elevated serum thyroglobulin levels as a marker of reversible hypothyroidism in patients with end-stage renal disease due to chronic glomerulonephritis

open access: yesCogent Medicine, 2017
Difference in thyroid function depending on the etiology of end-stage renal disease (ESRD) was evaluated in 124 Japanese patients on haemodialysis (HD) due to either chronic glomerulonephritis (CGN, n = 82) or lifestyle related systemic disease (non-CGN,

Characterization of phosphate residues on thyroglobulin.

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1987
Follicular 19 S thyroglobulin (molecular weight 660,000) from rat, human, and bovine thyroid tissues contains approximately 10-12 mol of phosphate/mol of protein. These phosphate residues can be radiolabeled when rat thyroid hemilobes, FRTL-5 rat thyroid cells, or bovine thyroid slices are incubated in vitro with [32P]phosphate.

Keap1/Nrf2 Signaling: A New Player in Thyroid Pathophysiology and Thyroid Cancer

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2019
The Keap1/Nrf2 pathway is a key mediator of general redox and tissue-specific homeostasis. It also exerts a dual role in cancer, by preventing cell transformation of normal cells but promoting aggressiveness, and drug resistance of malignant ones ...

Optimization of Thyroglobulin Coated Tube for Thyroglobulin IRMA Kit

open access: yesJKPK (Jurnal Kimia dan Pendidikan Kimia), 2018
<p>Immunoradiometric assay (IRMA) is a method of analysis based on immunological reactions of antigens-antibodies binding. This highly specific and sensitive method was used for in vitro diagnosis in small quantity of sample. Center for Radioisotope and Radiopharmaceutical Technology, BATAN has developed Thyroglobulin IRMA Kit using coated tube ...

Preoperative, operative, and postoperative pathological features in thyroid papillary carcinoma with and without capsule invasion

open access: yesGülhane Tıp Dergisi
Aims:Approximately 80-85% of thyroid malignancies are papillary thyroid cancer (PTC). This study evaluated the relationship between thyroid capsule invasion (TCI) in PTC and macroscopic histopathological findings. Methods:A single-center, retrospective ...
