Resistance to thyroid hormone beta (RTHβ) is an autosomal dominant hereditary disorder that is difficult to diagnose because of its rarity and variable clinical features, which are caused by mutations in the thyroid hormone receptor beta (THRB) gene ...

Thyroid disease in diabetics [PDF]
Summary Among a diabetic clinic population of 5,000 there were 113 patients (1.1%) with concurrent clinical thyroid dysfunction (56 hyperthyroid, 57 hypothyroid). Seventy-one (62.8%) of these patients were insulin-dependent and diabetes preceded thyroid disease in 85 (75.2%).

The Role of Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation in Ataxia‐Telangiectasia
ABSTRACT Background Ataxia‐telangiectasia (A‐T) is a DNA repair disorder characterized by neurodegeneration, immunodeficiency, and cancer predisposition. Hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) is an established therapy in related disorders such as Fanconi anemia (FA) and Nijmegen breakage syndrome (NBS), but its role in A‐T is unclear.

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Thyroid in women during peri- and postmenopause: physiology and diseases
The incidence of most thyroid diseases – hypothyroidism, nodular goiter, and cancer – is highest among peri- and postmenopausal women. Diagnosis of thyroid dysfunction in this group of patients is difficult, since the symptoms may be nonspecific, with ...

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

About 90% of patients with thyroid eye disease have Graves hyperthyroidism, but hypothyroidism and euthyroidism can also accompany this condition.[1][1] Eye disease usually develops in patients with hyperthyroidism within the first 1–2 years, but the disease can occur decades later.

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.
