Effect of Elevated Temperature on Tribological Properties of PVD Layers
The present study investigated tribological properties of multilayer TiAlN and nanocomposite (nc-Ti1-xAlxN)/a-Si3N4) coatings. Tested coatings were deposited by two PVD methods on the high speed steel Böhler S 600 Isorapid substrate.

Evaluation of Imprint and Multi‐Level Dynamics in Ferroelectric Capacitors
Multi‐level ferroelectric switching depends strongly on pulse timings. A hysteresis shift along the voltage axis (“imprint”) occurs when a ferroelectric device is left in a particular state. Here, different pulse sequences are adopted to investigate and explain the contrasting effects of fluid (short time scales) and time‐dependent imprint (long time ...

Abstract Fcc‐TixAl1–xN (TiAlN) coatings synthesized via chemical vapor deposition (CVD) reduce cutting tool wear. Although CVD conditions reportedly influence coating quality, no quantitative guidelines are yet available. To quantitatively study the film‐forming mechanism of TiAlN CVD, the gas composition over the surface must be known.
