Time-resolved axial-view of the dielectric breakdown under tight focusing in glass

open access: yes, 2011
We present time-resolved studies of the dielectric breakdown using tightly focused femtosecond (fs) laser pulses in glass. Axial evolution of the breakdown and material modifications have been retrieved over the time span from 0 to 1 ns with a 50 fs ...

Tailored intensity landscapes by tight focusing of singular vector beams

open access: yesOptics Express, 2017
Vector beams are of major importance to tailor tightly focused fields by creating an additional z-polarization component. Till now, mainly focusing properties of fundamental vector beams have been investigated, whereas the knowledge of focused higher-order singular vector fields is still missing.

Prognosis of Long‐Term Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy and the Impact of Combined Continuous Intravenous Sodium Infusion Therapy

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Patients requiring long‐term continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) generally have poor prognoses. This study evaluated whether adding continuous intravenous sodium infusion (cIVNa) is associated with improved hemodynamics and outcomes in patients undergoing long‐term CRRT for ≥ 7 days.

Subwavelength multiple focal spots produced by tight focusing the patterned vector optical fields

open access: yes, 2013
We numerically and experimentally explored generation and regulation of subwavelength multiple focal spots produced by tight focusing patterned vector optical fields (PVOFs).

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Generation of optical needle and dark channel by tight focusing of radially polarized circular partially coherent beams

open access: yes, 2020
We theoretically investigate the tight focusing of radially polarized circular partially coherent(RPCPC) beams through a high numerical aperture objective.

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Combined effect of tight-focusing and frequency-chirping on laser acceleration of an electron in vacuum

open access: yes, 2009
The investigation [Gupta , Appl. Phys. Lett. 91, 211101 (2007)] for electron acceleration by a tightly focused laser beam is revisited by including the effect of laser frequency chirping.
