Safety Functionals for Time Delay Systems
2019 American Control Conference (ACC), 2019This paper considers the stability and safety of nonlinear time delay systems. Utilizing a Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional we state and prove Lyapunov's theorem in its modern form and prove it with the help of the comparison lemma. Based on this we establish the notion of safety functional that allows us to ensure invariance of sets in the infinite ...

On stability of time delay Hamiltonian systems
2009 American Control Conference, 2009Stability of a class of nonlinear systems, called port-Hamiltonian systems, in the presence of time delay in the communication between the plant and controller is studied. The delay parameter is an unknown function which varies with time and for which the upper bounds on the magnitude and variation are known.

Switching control for time-delay systems
2006 American Control Conference, 2006In this paper, a switching control scheme for uncertain time-delay LTI systems is presented. It is assumed that the plant is described by a family of known controllable and observable LTI systems with delay in the states, and that a bound on the magnitude of the exogenous disturbances is available. It is shown that exact tracking can be achieved in the

Input Modeling in Time-Delayed Systems
Computational Mathematics and Modeling, 2001An essentially heuristic approach is proposed for the design of a controller of a plant responding with an appreciable but not a dominating delay (in the sense described by Minorsky). The usefulness and the practical efficiency of that approach can be judged fairly at present only by a practitioner of the corresponding engineering speciality.
