A Review of Linear Multilateration Techniques and Applications
In multilateration, distances between an unknown location and several known points are used to determine the location of the unknown point. Papers on algorithms for multilateration, such as time of arrival (TOA), time difference of arrival (TDOA), and ...

Reducing Bias for Closed‐Form TDOA Localization in Unified Near‐Field and Far‐Field Model
Bias is a fundamental metric for evaluating the average error of an estimator, where lower bias indicates an estimator closer to the true value. Recent studies on time difference of arrival (TDOA) localization have introduced the modified polar representation (MPR) to unify near‐field and far‐field scenarios, enhancing robustness to the source range ...

Seismo‐Acoustic Detection and Localization of Iceberg Collapse in Atka Bay, Antarctica
Abstract On 12 January 2022, an iceberg collapsed at the edge of frozen Atka Bay, Antarctica. The event generated seismic, hydroacoustic, and atmospheric infrasound waves recorded by a local network comprising land‐ and iceshelf‐based seismometers, an underwater hydrophone, and an on‐ice infrasound array.

A method for localization TDOA estimation based on signal‐level fusion and analysis
Passive localization using time difference of arrival (TDOA) is one of the common methods for radiated source target localization, and its localization performance depends on the accuracy of TDOA estimation. In many localization scenarios, the signals of

Abstract The German Research Foundation has established the priority program SPP 100+. Its subject is monitoring bridge structures in civil engineering. The data‐driven methods cluster deals with the use of measurements and their special global and local analysis methods, which complement each other in an overall multi‐scale concept in order to realize

Abstract Due to the properties of sound propagation underwater, including the existence of the SOFAR channel, sounds in the ocean can propagate over large distances with little attenuation. This makes passive acoustics a relevant method for monitoring natural events such as ice calving, earthquakes, and underwater volcanic eruptions.

Indoor positioning in 5G new radio: how it works, status quo of research, and the road ahead
In this paper, the architecture and mechanism of 5G New Radio indoor positioning schemes such as downlink time difference of arrival (DL-TDOA), uplink (UL) TDOA, multiple-cell round trip time (Multi-RTT), DL angle of departure, UL angle of arrival (AOA),
