Transfer Function of a Time-Varying Control System Considering Actuator Inertia

open access: yesChallenges and Issues of Modern Science
Purpose. Methodological support for building an algorithm for determining the transfer function (TF) of a link, which, considering the actuator dynamics and the disturbed motion of the mass center, is equivalent on a selected trajectory section to a ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Robust fractional-order sliding mode control for robotic manipulator system with time-varying disturbances

open access: yesFranklin Open
This paper presents a novel fractional-order sliding mode control (FOSMC) strategy for a robotic manipulator, addressing key limitations of conventional sliding mode control (SMC) methods.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Biophysical approaches for studying viral entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Viruses infect all living organisms and have been responsible for major epidemics and pandemics. Their ongoing evolutionary battle with host defenses creates a constant need for improved tools to study viral behavior. Advancing methods to probe viral attachment, fusion, and genome release deepen our understanding of how infections begin and support the

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Smooth Time-Varying Feedback Control of Nonholonomic Systems with Applications to the Attitude Control of Underactuated Spacecraft

open access: yesGuidance, Navigation and Control
This paper studies the control of chained nonholonomic systems by using smooth time-varying feedback. First, by using a time-varying state transformation, the chained nonholonomic system is transformed into a linear time-varying system.
