Analysis of Power System Electromagnetic Transients Using the Finite Element Technique

open access: yesEnergies
In this paper, a numerical model for the analysis of electromagnetic transients in a power system, based on the finite element technique, was developed. The simplicity of the finite element technique is manifested in the fact that the problem of solving ...

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

A transient-preserving audio time-stretching algorithm and a real-time realization for a commercial music product [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The core of this work is a sub-band transient detection/preservation scheme based on the complex domain transient detection, and inspired by Robel’s work.

Orthogonal Optimum Design of Parameters of Large-size Jacket Launching

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2018
In order to optimize the launching parameters more quickly and accurately, and to improve the design efficiency and quality of jacket launching schemes, a parametric finite element simulation model for jacket launching was established.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Abstract control rules and their use in domain independent planning [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Control rule based planners that take advantage of hand coded domain specific control knowledge currently out-perform fully automatic planners. Generic types have been presented as abstractions of the behaviour of types identified in planning domains and
