Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Automated basal insulin delivery versus multiple daily injections in type 1 diabetes: results from a randomized parallel controlled trial

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology
IntroductionThis study evaluated 6-month effectiveness and safety of automated insulin delivery (AID) in comparison with multiple daily injections (MDI) in pediatric and adult type 1 diabetes (T1D).Materials and methodsIndividuals with T1D, aged 2–80 ...

Modeling long-range dependent Gaussian processes with application in continuous-time financial models

open access: yes
This paper considers a class of nonstationary Gaussian processes with possible long-range dependence (LRD) and intermittency. The author proposes a new estimation method to simultaneously estimate both the LRD and intermittency parameter.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

A DYNAMIC AND STOCHASTIC PERSPECTIVE ON THE ROLE OF TIME IN RANGE MANAGEMENT

open access: yes
This chapter uses a new ecological-economic approach to analyze the role of time in range management in a dynamic and stochastic setting. We first construct a theoretical model of a parcel of rangeland in which time restrictions are used to manage the ...

Estimating and Forecasting Asset Volatility and Its Volatility: A Markov-Switching Range Model [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper proposes a new model for modeling and forecasting the volatility of asset markets. We suggest to use the log range defined as the natural logarithm of the difference of the maximum and the minimum price observed for an asset within a certain ...

Range imager performance comparison in homodyne and heterodyne operating modes

open access: yes, 2009
Range imaging cameras measure depth simultaneously for every pixel in a given field of view. In most implementations the basic operating principles are the same.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Time in ranges and glucose variability in patients with type 2 diabetes on different regimens of insulin therapy

open access: yesСибирский научный медицинский журнал
Insulin is used in the treatment of a significant proportion of patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D), while many patients do not achieve glycemic control targets.
