In order to study the influence of tip clearance on the performance and energy dissipation of the axial-flow pump and the axial-flow pump as a turbine, and find the location of high dissipation rate, this study took an axial-flow pump model as its ...

Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Cavitation in Axial Flow Pumps: Termination Report [PDF]
A series of cavitation experiments in an axial flow pump are described. It is found that cavitation first occurs in a tip vortex formed by the flow through the tip clearance space of the rotor blade.

Modeling Tip Clearance Effects in Multistage Axial Compressors [PDF]
A variety of techniques for simulating the effects of rotor tip clearances in multistage axial compressors is discussed. Proper recognition of stage coupling and rematching effects is shown to be key to successful modeling of the overall behavior of actual engine compression systems.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Aerodynamic Inner Workings of Circumferential Grooves in a Transonic Axial Compressor [PDF]
The current paper reports on investigations of the fundamental flow mechanisms of circumferential grooves applied to a transonic axial compressor. Experimental results show that the compressor stall margin is significantly improved with the current set ...

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

Tip-clearance effects in axial compressors
The flow in the tip-clearance gap of a compressor has a profound effect on its performance, but understanding of the actual flow phenomena involved is limited. The current work aims to improve the situation through a comprehensive set of tests on a compressor with different clearance sizes and levels of eccentricity.
