In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Separating Overlapping Tissue Layers from Microscopy Images
Manual preparation of tissue slices for microscopy imaging can introduce tissue tears and overlaps. Typically, further digital processing algorithms such as registration and 3D reconstruction from tissue image stacks cannot handle images with tissue tear/

Multimodality management of soft tissue sarcomas [PDF]
Soft tissue sarcomas are a heterogeneous group of malignant tumours arising from connective tissues of mesenchymal origin. By definition sarcomas arising from bone or cartilage are excluded though they have much in common in their behaviour as well as in

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Input-Driven Tissue P Automata [PDF]
We introduce several variants of input-driven tissue P automata where the rules to be applied only depend on the input symbol. Both strings and multisets are considered as input objects; the strings are either read from an input tape or defined by the

This contribution to the induction of tissue formation starts with seemingly simple questions, “Why Bone?” and “Why Cartilage?”, the essential ingredients to compose the skeleton ad thus the speciation of the vertebrates, the induction of long bone via endochondral ossification, the induction of the growth plate, body erection and the speciation thus ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Big bottlenecks in cardiovascular tissue engineering. [PDF]
Although tissue engineering using human-induced pluripotent stem cells is a promising approach for treatment of cardiovascular diseases, some limiting factors include the survival, electrical integration, maturity, scalability, and immune response of ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
