Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Imaging appearance and distribution of intra-articular adhesions following open FAI surgery.

open access: yes, 2018
OBJECTIVES To evaluate the appearance and distribution of intra-articular adhesions on direct MR arthrograms (MRA) in symptomatic patients after surgical hip dislocation (SHD) for the treatment of femoroacetabular impingement (FAI).

Effects of a Single Application of Adcon Gel on Peritendinous Adhesion: An Experimental Study in Rabbits [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Peritendinous adhesions are serious complications after surgical repair of tendons and can lead to poor functional outcome. In the present study, the tensile strength of repaired tendons was measured biomechanically in two groups using a rabbit Achilles ...

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Cell-Matrix adhesions of soft tissue cells around dental implants

open access: yes, 2006
The importance of soft tissue response to implant abutments has become one of the major issues in current implant dentistry. To date, numerous studies have emphasized on maintaining connective tissue barriers in quantity, as well as in quality fir the ...

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Prevention of Postoperative Adhesions of Caesarean Section

open access: yes, 2017
Adhesions means fibrous or scar tissue that results from the healing process. Up to 95% of patients who have surgery develop adhesions. Adhesions formation and its long term sequel is a well known complication of the surgery but unfortunately very little

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Pathogenesis of post surgical adhesions and prevention using a novel fibrin sealant

open access: yes, 1999
This thesis was submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and awarded by Brunel University.Post surgical adhesions (PSAs) are an inevitable outcome of surgery and their presence leads to pathogeneses and significant economic impact. The studies
