Tissue Culture Techniques in the Study of Cell Photobiology and Phototoxicity
Journal of Investigative Dermatology, 1970 Tissue culture monolayers exposed to 13 photosensitizing compounds demonstrated a phototoxic effect resulting in death of the cells when exposed to either broad spectrum or monochromatic ultraviolet or visible light of appropriate wavelength. Drug alone, light alone, and 2 non-photosensitizing chemicals with the light induced no such effect.
