Studies on the Bone-Marrow Tissue Culture by the Roller-Tube Method. Part 2. The Effects of Chick-Embryo Extracts on the Tissue Culture [PDF]
In the rabbit bone-marrow tissue culture by the roller-tube method, the author determined the optimal concentration in the medium of both the chick-embryo extracts and the first diluted solution from the sediment of the chick-embryo from which extracts ...

Exogenously added GPI-anchored tissue inhibitor of matrix metal loproteinase-1 (TIMP-1) displays enhanced and novel biological activities [PDF]
The family of tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMPs) exhibits diverse physiological/biological functions including the inhibition of active matrix metalloproteinases, regulation of proMMP activation, cell growth, and the modulation of ...

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

The anti-angiogenic herbal composition Ob-X inhibits adipose tissue growth in obese mice
Objective: The growth and development of adipose tissue are thought to be associated with angiogenesis and extracellular matrix remodeling. Since the composition of the herbal extract called Ob-X has been shown to have both anti-angiogenic and matrix ...

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Ubiquitination of endogenous calmodulin in rabbit tissue extracts
Previously we were able to show that purified calmodulins from vertebrates, plants (spinach) and the mold Neurospora crassa can be covalently conjugated to ubiquitin in a Ca2+-dependent manner.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Thermolability of the Tissue Extract Factor in Extract Activation
The writer has found that the addition of one volume of rabbit plasma to 60-100 volumes of chick embryo extract greatly increases the coagulative power of the extract1; that the increase of power is due to the appearance of a body which shows the same sensitivity to heparin as thrombin2; that the body reacts like thrombin in the presence and absence of
