This review explores how to make staple foods and horticultural crops more nutritious, including how artificial intelligence‐based screening of gene banks helps deploy nutritionally rich germplasm into breeding. Genome editing can help develop crops richer in minerals, vitamins, and health‐promoting compounds, supporting healthier diets and more ...

ABSTRACT Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a known risk factor for hypercalcemia in cats. Phosphate‐restricted diets have also been implicated in causing hypercalcemia, in part because phosphate restriction increases the Ca:P ratio. The primary objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of two different therapeutic renal foods on ionized (iCa ...

ABSTRACT Endogenous H2O2 participated in the ethylene‐dependent ripening and senescence process of horticultural fruit as a secondary messenger; however, the molecular mechanism beneath such a phenomenon has not been fully clarified until recently. By a conjoint analysis of metabolite, enzyme activities, gene expression profiles in AsA‐GSH cycle of ...

CONDUCTIVITY TITRATION OF GELATIN SOLUTIONS WITH ACIDS [PDF]
Titrations have been made, by the conductivity method, of gelatin solutions with hydrochloric and sulphuric acids. The results indicate an end-point at about 8.6 cc. of N/10 acid per gm. of gelatin, or a combining weight of about 1,160. These results are in fair agreement with those previously obtained by the hydrogen electrode method. Better agreement

ABSTRACT In Brazilian apple breeding (Malus domestica Borkh.), Active Germplasm Banks are providing the genetic diversity required for selecting genotypes with low chilling requirements, high yield and superior fruit quality. This study estimated genetic parameters and perform genotype selection based on phenotypic traits from the IDR‐Paraná breeding ...

Automatic titration of free fatty acids
FFA have been titrated automatically in a single-phase system, obtained by adding isopropanol to nonpolar extracts. Good reproducibility and linearity were obtained in the titration of standard palmitic acid. Titration results for serum extracts were comparable with those obtained manually by an experienced worker.
