MNase titration reveals differences between nucleosome occupancy and chromatin accessibility
Chromatin accessibility plays a fundamental role in gene regulation. Nucleosome placement, usually measured by quantifying protection of DNA from enzymatic digestion, can regulate accessibility. We introduce a metric that uses micrococcal nuclease (MNase)

Humic acid protein complexation [PDF]
Interactions of purified Aldrich humic acid (PAHA) with lysozyme (LSZ) are investigated. In solution LSZ is moderately positively and PAHA negatively charged at the investigated pH values.

The importance of the initial period of basal insulin titration in people with diabetes
Achieving target glycaemic control is essential in people with diabetes to minimize the risk of long‐term complications, and many people with type 2 diabetes will ultimately require basal insulin (BI) therapy to achieve their individualized glycaemic ...

Mutations in the C9orf72 gene represent the most common genetic cause of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a fatal neurodegenerative disease. Using patient‐derived neurons and C. elegans models, we find that the nucleoporin Nup107 is dysregulated in C9orf72‐associated ALS. Conversely, reducing Nup107 levels mitigates disease‐related changes.

Detection of protein concentrations using a pH-step titration method [PDF]
A stimulus-response method based on the application of a pH step is proposed for the detection of protein immobilized in a membrane on top of an ion-sensitive field-effect transistor (ISFET). The ISFET response to a step-wise change in pH, applied at the

The titration of rhodanese with substrates [PDF]
The transfer of sulfur catalyzed by rhodanese (EC 2.8.1 .l .) is thought to proceed through a double displacement mechanism where the enzyme is first charged with the donor sulfur and then discharged by the acceptor [ 1 ] . Earlier workers have reported that the enzyme accepts from 1 to 1.9 atoms of sulfur per mole of enzyme of mol. wt. of 37 000 (2-4).

Randomised controlled trial of polysomnographic titration of noninvasive ventilation
Noninvasive ventilation (NIV) settings determined during wakefulness may produce patient–ventilator asynchrony (PVA) during sleep, causing sleep disruption and limiting tolerance. This study investigated whether NIV titrated with polysomnography (PSG) is

Trastuzumab‐deruxtecan, a HER2‐targeting antibody‐drug conjugate, shows promising antitumor activity in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma with low HER2 expression. In vitro and in vivo studies demonstrated dose‐dependent cell death and tumor growth reduction in low HER2‐expressing cell lines, which correlated with drug accumulation measured using a

A procedure for the determination of proteolytic activity [PDF]
The difficulties introduced by the desire to maintain a constant pH during an enzyme-catalyzed hydrolysis of peptide-like substrates and at the same time to determine the extent of hydrolysis by an acid-base titration have been pointed out (1), but to ...
