Thermoluminescent Response of TLD-100 to Low Energy Protons

The fluence-response curve of LiF:Mg,Ti (TLD-100) exposed to 0.7, 1.5 and 3 MeV protons has been measured in the 10 7 -10 12 protons.cm -2 fluence range. The total TL signal and glow curve peaks show in all cases a linear-supralinear response and the degree of supralinearity increases with the energy of the incident beam and the temperature of the TL

Supralinearity, sensitisation and phototransferred thermoluminescence in LiF TLD-100

A recently proposed model to explain the supralinearity, sensitisation and PTTL in LiF TLD-100 is discussed in detail. It is shown that the predictions of the model are not borne out by the experimental results, and hence the model in its present form is inadequate.

High ambient temperature effects in LiF TLD-100

Experimental results for the evolution of the TLD-100 glow peaks IV and V during storage at 70 degrees C are presented. These results confirm a previous conclusion on the null incidence of spontaneous release of radiation-induced trapped charges on this evolution.

On the mobile interstitial model for TL in LiF-TLD 100

In recent years, Alvarez Rivas and co-workers (1972, 1974) have proposed a model for thermoluminescence in alkali halides in which the mobile entity is an interstitial, and not a hole or an electron as assumed in the conventional models. Recently, Sagastibelza and Alvarez Raivas (1981) have extended the model to LiF-TLD 100.

Role of peak IV in the sensitisation of LiF TLD-100

Peak IV in LiF TLD-100 is different from the rest of the glow peaks (I-V) in that it does not appear in the glow curves of sensitised samples or in photo-transferred TL glow curves. This behaviour is discussed in the light of a recently suggested model for the TL process in this material.

Relative Efficiency Of TLD-100 Exposed to X-Rays

The relative efficiency of TLD‐100 (LiF:Mg,Ti) exposed to X‐rays in the range from 30 to 250 kV, with respect to 60CO gamma rays has been measured. Glow curves were deconvoluted into peaks 3 to 9. All efficiencies were greater than 1 having a maximum of 1.38 for the dosimetric region (peaks 3+4+5) and peaks 4, 5 and 9, and 2.2 for peaks 6a, 6b, 7 and 8
