On the mechanism of phototransfer thermoluminescence in LiF TLD-100

LiF TLD-100 exposed to 25.8 C kg-1 and then annealed at 350 degrees C for 15 minutes contains defects responsible for the 225 nm optical absorption band and peak XII. Other defects have not been identified in this sample. Consequently, phototransfer thermoluminescence (PTTL) has been assumed to originate from peak XII.

Thermoluminescence of LiF TLD-100 dosimeter crystals

The unusually complex thermoluminescence obtained from Harshaw dosimeter type TLD-100 LiF crystals has been studied with apparatus for measuring emission intensity simultaneously as a function of both wavelength and sample temperature. A separate signal averaged spectrum is obtained at 5.5 C temperature intervals.

Order of kinetics for thermoluminescence in LiF TLD-100

Effect of deep traps on the sensitization in LiF (TLD-100) phosphor

The effect of residual thermoluminescence (RTL) on sensitization (S/S0) of peak 5 (197°C) and peak 7 (257°C) in LiF (TLD-100) is studied. Intense UV irradiation (253.7 nm) at a temperature of 300°C is found to completely remove the RTL peak 8 (321°C) and RTL peak 10 (415°C) without altering very much the sensitization of peak 5.

The emission spectrum of LiF (TLD-100) at low and high exposures

The emission spectrum of LiF (TLD-100) was studied for high and low exposures. The ratio of the thermoluminescence of the high exposure (3.4*104 R) to that of the low exposure (100 R) was the same for all wavelengths. A tendency for the emission spectrum to shift to shorter wavelengths with higher temperature glow peaks was observed.
