Thermoluminescence response of doped silicon dioxide optical fibres subjected to electron irradiation [PDF]
This study was focused on the suitability of commercial optical fibres as a new thermoluminescence dosimeter (TLD). The materials doped to silicon dioxide(SiO2) were germanium type A (Ge (A)) of first, second and third batch, germaniumtype B (Ge (B ...

Companding technique for high dynamic range measurements using gafchromic films
We propose a methodology to perform dose measurements using gafchromic films which can span several decades of dose levels. The technique is based on a rescaling approach using different films irradiated at different dose levels.

We present an automated system that combines an image‐based fuzzy logic controller for precise positioning of microfluidic picoliter droplets with nonlinear microscopy, using CARS and TPEF modalities for detailed analysis of droplet composition. Time series and z‐stack images of E. coli, B. subtilis, and M. arborescens were recorded.

This study presents a robust strategy for 3D printing conductive, mechanically resilient MXene–CNF composite structures using a single‐step freeze‐induced crosslinking method. The printed architectures remain stable in both wet and dry states, exhibit high electrical conductivity and mechanical strength, and demonstrate practical application in fully ...

Comparison of RPL GD-301 and TLD-100 detectors responses by Monte Carlo simulation
(LiF:Mg,Ti) Thermo Luminescent Detectors are widely used for monitoring patient dose in radiotherapy treatments whereas Radio-Photoluminescent Dosimeters (RPL) are increasingly devoted to radiological protection purposes. A study, aiming at extending the

Assessment of Radiation Dose to the Lens of the Eye and Thyroid of Patients Undergoing Head and Neck Computed Tomography at Five Hospitals in Mashhad, Iran [PDF]
Introduction: In recent years, the number of computed tomography (CT) scans, which is a high-dose technique, has increased significantly. Head and neck CT is performed frequently and thyroid, particularly in children, has always been considered a ...

Disordered Bile Acid Metabolism in Alcohol‐Related Hepatitis
Serum conjugated primary bile acids accumulate in alcohol‐related hepatitis due to downregulation of hepatocyte bile acid transporters. Hepatocyte growth factor is elevated in alcohol‐related hepatitis and downregulates BSEP expression. This detrimentally affects the hepatoprotective adaptive reduction in NTCP/increase in BSEP seen in cholestasis ...
