Efficacy and safety of imiquimod in the treatment of subclinicaland clinical forms of persistent cervical papillomavirus infection in patients of early reproductive age [PDF]

open access: yesГинекология, 2015
Objectives. HPV infection is a major risk factor for cervix cancer. This study evaluated cervical application of imiquimodfortreatment of subclinical (flat condyloma) and clinical (CIN I, LSIL) manifestations of human papillomavirus infection.

Investigation of Inflammation and Autophagy due to Biglycan-mediated TLR2/4 Signaling in Oral Lichen Planus Tissues [PDF]

open access: yesForbes Tıp Dergisi
Objective: Oral lichen planus (OLP) is a chronic oral mucosal disease of unknown etiology. Cellular immune response, basement membrane, and extracellular matrix (ECM) molecules are also noteworthy in the pathogenesis.

Advanced Human Immune Cell‐Organoid Co‐Cultures for Functional Testing of Cancer Nanovaccines

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma remains difficult to treat. We establish an organoid–immune co‐culture using patient‐derived organoids and matched T‐cells to assess cancer vaccines. A mesothelin‐targeted nanovaccine activates antigen‐specific T‐cells, increases IFN‐γ, and targets MSLN+ organoids.

Antigen-Specific Polyclonal Cytotoxic T Lymphocytes Induced by Fusions of Dendritic Cells and Tumor Cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The aim of cancer vaccines is induction of tumor-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) that can reduce the tumor mass. Dendritic cells (DCs) are potent antigen-presenting cells and play a central role in the initiation and regulation of primary immune ...

IL‐4/STAT6‐signaling Influences Local Inflammation and Regeneration Processes During Acute Pancreatitis and Promotes Fibrosis by a Direct Activation of Pancreatic Fibroblasts During Chronic Pancreatitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
IL‐4/IL‐13/STAT6 signaling plays a crucial for the suppression of pro‐inflammation during acute pancreatitis and supports acinar cell regeneration but has only minor impact on fibrogenesis during chronic form of the disease. IL‐4/IL‐13 induce the expression of certain collagens directly in pancreatic fibroblasts via STAT6 activation, whereas ...

Tobacco Smoke Exposure From Prenatal To Adolescent Periods Drives IBD Pathogenesis: Dynamic DNA Methylation Signatures Across Lifespan Stages

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study illustrates that maternal smoking during pregnancy (MSDP) is an independent risk factor for IBD in offspring, and DNA methylation serves as a key mechanistic pathway connecting early‐life smoking exposure with IBD risk in offspring. That highlights the urgent need for preventive interventions targeting prospective parents and minors to ...

Finite frequency current noise in the Holstein model

open access: yes, 2017
We investigate the effects of local vibrational excitations in the nonsymmetrized current noise $S(\omega)$ of a nanojunction. For this purpose, we analyze a simple model - the Holstein model - in which the junction is described by a single electronic ...

AXL Promotes Ischemic Myelin Repair Through Alleviating Myelin Debris Deposition and Lipid Droplets Accumulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Microglial AXL drives white matter repair after stroke by orchestrating the cleanup of myelin debris. Mechanistically, AXL signals through EGR1 to boost Smpd1 transcription, regulating sphingolipid metabolism and preventing lipid droplet toxicity. Restoring the pathway with ASM therapy mitigates damage, positioning AXL as a key node for therapeutic ...

TLR Polymorphisms in FMF: Association of TLR-2 (Arg753Gln) and TLR-4 (Asp299Gly, Thre399Ile) Polymorphisms and Myeloid Cell TLR-2 and TLR-4 Expression with the Development of Secondary Amyloidosis in FMF

open access: yesInflammation, 2010
Amyloidosis is the major complication of familial Mediterranean fever (FMF). Toll-like receptors (TLR) are involved in the activation of an innate immune system TLR-2 and TLR-4 recognize lipoteichoic acid and lipopolysaccharides (LPS), respectively.

Oncolytic Probiotics with Molecular Pili for Solid Tumor Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies Lactobacillus rhamnosus as an intrinsic oncolytic agent that triggers tumor metabolic collapse via calcium‐dependent ROS bursts. By chemically anchoring collagen‐targeting “molecular pili” to the bacterial surface, the engineered non‐transgenic probiotic (LR@MP) achieves targeted colonization and potent solid tumor suppression ...
