Abstract We present results of an extensive study of the response of a modular TMP hadron calorimeter to electron and pion beams from 5 to 150 GeV/ c . The signal response ratio, e/π, was measured as a function of both the absorber material type and the ratio of absorber-to-TMP thicknesses. The absorbers were iron, lead and aluminum-clad lead.
