Reprogramming tumor immune microenvironment by ultrasound‐responsive nanoplatforms for enhanced cancer immunotherapy

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
Ultrasound‐responsive nanoplatforms reprogram the tumor immune microenvironment by targeting tumor cells, immune cells, and non‐immune stromal cells to enhance the efficacy of cancer immunotherapy. Abstract Cancer immunotherapy represents a significant advancement in cancer treatment by enhancing the specific recognition and elimination of cancer cells.

2D copper nanozyme patches facilitate bone regeneration via interfacial modulation of osteoclast‐osteoblast dynamics

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
This study develops a nano‐enzyme patch (ezPatch) targeting bone interfaces. Utilizing ligand‐to‐metal charge transfer (LMCT) catalysis and bone‐targeting ligands on copper nanosheets, ezPatch simultaneously scavenges reactive oxygen species (ROS) and generates oxygen in situ at bone‐losing sites.

Harnessing ferroptosis from multilayer defense networks to nanoplatforms for specific cancer therapy

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
Nanomaterials target metabolically‐regulated ferroptosis for cancer therapy. Iron‐based or alternative nanoplatforms integrate ferroptosis with chemotherapy, immunotherapy, or radiotherapy. They enable stimulus‐responsive therapies (photothermal, photodynamic, sonodynamic) activated by near‐infrared, light, or ultrasound, achieving potent synergistic ...

The Complexity of TNF‐Related Apoptosis‐Inducing Ligand

Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, 2000
Abstract: One of the major goals of researchers in the field of apoptosis is to understand the molecular mechanisms of the various components of the apoptotic pathways, with the hope to identify targets for novel cancer therapies. The discovery of a TNF‐related, apoptosis‐inducing ligand, TRAIL, that kills transformed cells with great specificity in ...

TNF‐related apoptosis‐inducing ligand as a therapeutic agent in autoimmunity and cancer

Immunology and Cell Biology, 2006
Recombinant, soluble TNF‐related apoptosis‐inducing ligand (TRAIL) is currently being developed as a promising natural immune molecule for trial in cancer patients because it selectively induces apoptosis in transformed or stressed cells but not in most normal cells. In cancer patients, phase 1 and 2 clinical trials using agonistic mAbs that engage the

Stability and bioactivity of nanocomplex of TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand

International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 2008
The tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis inducing ligand (TRAIL) has gained much attention due to its potent therapeutic effect for cancer and rheumatoid arthritis. In this study, we attempted to develop the injectable formulations which can stabilize TRAIL and thus show prolonged blood circulation in vivo.
