Designing fault-tolerant SOA based on design diversity [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Software Engineering Research and Development, 2014
Over recent years, software developers have been evaluating the benefits of both Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and software fault tolerance techniques based on design diversity. This is achieved by creating fault-tolerant composite services that leverage functionally-equivalent services.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Multi-objective optimization based on improved non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm II for tolerance allocation of auto-body parts

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2017
The auto-body is usually composed of compliant sheet metals. The assembly variation is inevitable in the process of auto-body assembly. A reasonable tolerance allocation method for compliant sheet metal body parts is an important means to control ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

A Tolerance Type Screening Method Based on Similarity Evaluation

open access: yesApplied Sciences
In the context of automatic generation methods for tolerance specifications, the current approach entails designers subjectively selecting geometric tolerances suitable for annotation from the tolerance types generated through automatic reasoning.

Precision Die Design by The Die Expansion Method

open access: yesThe Proceedings of the Nigerian Academy of Science, 2013
A new method for the design of precision dies used in cold forging, extrusion and drawing processes is presented. It is based on die expansion. It attempts to provide a clear-cut theoretical basis for the selection of critical die dimensions for this ...
