Dandruff Is a Low‐Grade Inflammatory Condition Featuring Hyperproliferative Keratinocytes, Interleukin‐17‐Producing T Cells, and N‐Acyl Ethanolamines

open access: yesImmunity, Inflammation and Disease, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Dandruff features epidermal scaling but lacks overt signs of inflammation, such as erythema. Characterisation of its inflammatory profile may improve understanding of the underlying inflammatory mechanisms and therefore indicate alternative approaches for treatment.

α-MSH-Stimulated Tolerogenic Dendritic Cells Induce Functional Regulatory T Cells and Ameliorate Ongoing Skin Inflammation

open access: yes, 2012
The neuropeptide α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH) is a well-known mediator of skin pigmentation. More recently, it has been shown that α-MSH also exerts a strong anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive activity.

Immune Evasion in Ovarian Cancer Peritoneal Metastasis: Mechanisms and Biomarker‐Guided Therapeutic Matching

open access: yesJournal of Cellular Physiology, Volume 241, Issue 6, June 2026.
This graphical abstract summarizes the major immune‐evasion mechanisms that limit immunotherapy efficacy in ovarian cancer peritoneal metastasis. Peritoneal dissemination is shaped by impaired antigen visibility, coordinated immune‐evasion modules within ascites and multicellular spheroids, checkpoint‐driven T‐cell exhaustion, suppressive tumor ...

Inflammation, Immunity, and Cardiovascular Diseases

open access: yesMed Research, Volume 2, Issue 2, Page 343-370, June 2026.
Cardiovascular stress signals (e.g., hemodynamic shear, oxidized lipids, and ischemia) act on endothelial and immune cells to activate and amplify inflammation through NF‐κB, the NLRP3 inflammasome, and JAK/STAT signaling, inducing proinflammatory cytokines/chemokines (IL‐6, IL‐1β, TNF‐α, and CCL2) and self‐amplifying circuits; clinically, inflammatory

Oxidative Stress in the Tumor Immune Microenvironment: Mechanisms and Therapeutic Perspectives

open access: yesMedComm – Oncology, Volume 5, Issue 2, June 2026.
Oxidative stress is involved in several key processes in cancer, including redox regulation, DNA damage, post‐translational modifications, transcriptional regulation, epigenetic modifications, metabolic reprogramming, cell death, and immune modulation. These mechanisms collectively influence tumor progression, immune evasion, and therapeutic responses,

Oral Immunotherapy Induces Shift in lncRNA Expression Modulating Allergen‐Specific Immune Responses

open access: yesAllergy, Volume 81, Issue 6, Page 2111-2122, June 2026.
We used PBMC transcriptome from 50 hen's egg‐allergic patients to study the role of lncRNA in OIT. Positive correlation was found between 17 lncRNAs and the IL‐4/IL‐13 pathway in vivo, and the expression of the selected lncRNA aligned with CXCL8 upon PBMC egg‐restimulation.

Allergic Sensitization to Inhalant Allergens in the Upper Respiratory Tract—the B Cell Side

open access: yesAllergy, Volume 81, Issue 6, Page 1985-2000, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Allergic diseases are on the rise worldwide, driven by respiratory epithelial barrier dysfunction that promotes sensitization to inhalant allergens such as pollen, dust mites, pet dander, and fungal spores. These antigens trigger IgE‐mediated immune responses that lead to diseases such as allergic rhinitis (AR) and asthma.

Metabolism Is Central to Tolerogenic Dendritic Cell Function

open access: yes, 2020
Immunological tolerance is a fundamental tenant of immune homeostasis and overall health. Self-tolerance is a critical component of the immune system that allows for the recognition of self, resulting in hyporeactivity instead of immunogenicity ...
