Microstructural Changes of Aramid Fiber Due to Reaction with Toluene 2,4-diisocyanate under Tension in scCO2. [PDF]

open access: yesPolymers (Basel), 2019
High modulus aramid fiber, such as Kevlar 49, is conventionally prepared by the heat annealing of high strength aramid fiber under a suitable tension at high temperature, especially higher than 500 °C. This enables the mobility of a rigid molecule chain to be rearranged into a more perfect crystalline or orientation structure under tension.

Increased mutagenicity in the liver of MutaMouse females following oral treatment with commercial-grade toluene diisocyanate [PDF]

open access: yesGenes and Environment
Background Toluene diisocyanates (TDIs) are high-production-volume chemicals widely used in polyurethane manufacturing. A typical commercial-grade TDI (TDI; 2,4-toluene diisocyanate: 2,6-toluene diisocyanate; 80:20), CAS: 26471-62-5, is mutagenic in ...

Identification and validation of genes encoding humoral specificity for the chemical allergen toluene diisocyanate. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE
A panel of hybridomas specific for different isomers of toluene diisocyanate (TDI), a cross‑linking chemical used in polyurethane production, has been previously described.

Kujin Suppresses Histamine Signaling at the Transcriptional Level in Toluene 2,4-Diisocyanate–Sensitized Rats

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacological Sciences, 2009
Kujin, the dried root of Sophorae flavescensis, has been used in Chinese folklore medicine against allergy. Evaluation of its anti-allergic potential as well as its mechanism of action has rarely been established.

Delayed Type Allergic Itch-Associated Response Induced by Toluene-2,4-diisocyanate in Hairless Mice

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacological Sciences, 2003
: To develop an allergic dermatitis model showing persistent scratching in mice, toluene-2,4-diisocyanate (TDI) was repeatedly painted onto the skin of hairless HR-1 mice, and induction of itch-associated scratching behavior was observed.

The corrosion inhibition performance of a diissocyanate-imidazole based organic compound during acid cleaning of MSF desalination plant [PDF]

open access: yesHeliyon
Inorganic scale formation is a common issue in multi-stage flash (MSF) desalination plants, significantly impacting operational efficiency. To address this, acid cleaning is frequently employed, but it can lead to severe corrosion of alloy components if ...

Antihistamines suppress upregulation of histidine decarboxylase gene expression with potencies different from their binding affinities for histamine H1 receptor in toluene 2,4-diisocyanate-sensitized rats

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacological Sciences, 2016
Antihistamines inhibit histamine signaling by blocking histamine H1 receptor (H1R) or suppressing H1R signaling as inverse agonists. The H1R gene is upregulated in patients with pollinosis, and its expression level is correlated with the severity of ...

Repeated Pre-treatment With Antihistamines Causes Transcriptional Up-regulations of Histamine H1 Receptor and Interleukin-4 Genes in Toluene-2,4-diisocyanate–Sensitized Rats

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacological Sciences, 2008
Antihistamines are effective for treatment of seasonal nasal allergy. Recently, prophylactic treatment with antihistamines in patients with pollinosis was reported to be more effective when started before the pollen season.

Suplatast tosilate alleviates nasal symptoms through the suppression of nuclear factor of activated T-cells-mediated IL-9 gene expression in toluene-2,4-diisocyanate-sensitized rats

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacological Sciences, 2016
Histamine H1 receptor (H1R) gene is upregulated in patients with pollinosis; its expression level is highly correlated with the nasal symptom severity.
