Artificial Creativity and Human Fragility

open access: yesModern Theology, EarlyView.
Abstract This article critiques the widespread assumption that generative AI systems exhibit genuine artistic creativity. While such systems can produce novel and aesthetically appealing outputs, assessments based solely on results obscure fundamental differences between human and artificial agents.

Homo Nationalis and the Moralisation of Belonging: Rethinking National Identity in Austria

open access: yesNations and Nationalism, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article examines how national identity and belonging in contemporary Austria are articulated through moral rather than ideological vocabularies. Internal 1-topoi in 2-topoi

open access: yes
We further develop Weber's notion of elementary 2-topos by proposing certain new axioms. We show that in a 2-category C satisfying these axioms, the "discrete opfibration (DOF) classifier" S is always an internal elementary 1-topos, in an appropriate sense. The axioms introduced for this purpose are closure conditions on the DOFs having "S-small fibres"

Specimen‐tailored ‘lived’ climate reveals precipitation onset and amount best predict specimen phenology, but only weakly predict estimated reproduction across a clade

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Summary Herbarium specimens are widely distributed in space and time, thereby capturing diverse conditions. We reconstructed specimen ‘lived’ climate from knowledge of germination cues and collection dates for 14 annual species in the Streptanthus (s.l.) clade (Brassicaceae) to ask: which climate attributes best explain specimen phenological stage and ...

Cyclophilin A‐mediated cis/trans isomerization modulates RIN4 to control intracellular rhizobial infection in legumes

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Summary In most legume‐rhizobium symbioses, rhizobial colonization occurs through host‐derived intracellular infection threads, which enable rhizobial recruitment while presumably modulating the host immune system to prevent rejection. To investigate post‐translational regulation of immune responses during rhizobial infection, we focused on Cyclophilin
