Geometric transition in Non-perturbative Topological string

open access: yes, 2016
We study a geometric transition in non-perturbative topological string. We consider two cases. One is the geometric transition from the closed topological string on the local $\mathcal{B}_{3}$ to the closed topological string on the resolved conifold ...

Winding numbers of phase transition points for one-dimensional topological systems

open access: yes, 2015
We study topological properties of phase transition points of one-dimensional topological quantum phase transitions by assigning winding numbers defined on closed circles around the gap closing points in the parameter space of momentum and a transition ...

Loss-Driven Topological Transitions in Lasing

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2022
We experimentally observe lasing in a hexamer plasmonic lattice and find that when tuning the scale of the unit cell, the polarization winding of the emission changes. By a theoretical analysis we identify the lasing modes as quasi bound states in continuum (quasi-BICs) of topological charges of zero, one or two.

Boundary spin polarization as robust signature of topological phase transition in Majorana nanowires

open access: yes, 2018
We show that the boundary charge and spin can be used as alternative signatures of the topological phase transition in topological models such as semiconducting nanowires with strong Rashba spin-orbit interaction in the presence of a magnetic field and ...

Quantum Zeno effect as a topological phase transition in full counting statistics and spin noise spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
When the interaction of a quantum system with a detector is changing from weak to strong coupling limits, the system experiences a transition from the regime with quantum mechanical coherent oscillations to the regime with a frozen dynamics.

Topology and Phase Transitions: Paradigmatic Evidence [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2000
We report upon the numerical computation of the Euler characteristic (a topologic invariant) of the equipotential hypersurfaces _v of the configuration space of the two-dimensional lattice $ ^4$ model. The pattern ( _v) vs. v (potential energy) reveals that a major topology change in the family { _v}_{v\in R} is at the origin of the phase ...

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Topological interpretation of extremal and Davies-type phase transitions of black holes

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
Topological arguments are currently being used as a novel scheme to discern the properties of black holes while ignoring their detailed structure and specific field equations.

Engineering tandem VHHs to target different epitopes to enhance antibody‐dependent cell‐mediated cytotoxicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Tandem VHH targeting distinct EGFR epitopes were engineered into a monovalent bispecific antibody (7D12‐EGA1‐Fc) with more potent ADCC without increasing affinity to EGFR. Structural modeling of 7D12‐EGA1‐Fc showed cross‐linking of separate EGFR domains to enhance CD16a engagement on NK cells.

Topological hyperbolic metamaterials

open access: yesNanophotonics
Hyperbolic metamaterial (HMM) is a unique type of anisotropic material that can exhibit metal and dielectric properties at the same time. This unique characteristic results in it having unbounded isofrequency surface contours, leading to exotic phenomena
