A new agents-based model for dynamic job allocation in manufacturing shopfloors [PDF]
Market-based mechanisms such as the contract net protocol (CNP) are very popular for dynamic job allocation in distributed manufacturing control and scheduling. The CNP can be deployed with different configurations of the system elements.

Phase Transitions and Topology Changes in Configuration Space [PDF]
The relation between thermodynamic phase transitions in classical systems and topological changes in their configuration space is discussed for two physical models and contains the first exact analytic computation of a topologic invariant (the Euler characteristic) of certain submanifolds in the configuration space of two physical models.

A stretchable carbon composite is integrated by stencil printing onto two different types of textile, with different yarn morphologies. The impact of the knit structure and coating direction on the performance of the sensor composite is evaluated and used to derive a model estimating nominal resistance at a given strain near the percolation threshold ...

Non-topological Vortex Configurations in the ABJM Model [PDF]
In this paper we study the existence of vortex-type solutions for a system of self-dual equations deduced from the mass-deformed Aharony--Bergman--Jafferis--Maldacena (ABJM) model. The governing equations, derived by Mohammed, Murugan, and Nastse under suitable ansatz involving fuzzy sphere matrices, have the new feature that they can support only non ...

A Generalized Multilevel Inverter Topology With Reduction of Total Standing Voltage
This paper presents a new multilevel inverter topology with reduced active switches and total standing voltage. The proposed topology can generate a high number of voltage levels in the symmetric configuration.

Topology of energy surfaces and existence of transversal Poincar\'e sections
Two questions on the topology of compact energy surfaces of natural two degrees of freedom Hamiltonian systems in a magnetic field are discussed. We show that the topology of this 3-manifold (if it is not a unit tangent bundle) is uniquely determined by ...

Unavoidable Configurations in Complete Topological Graphs [PDF]
A topological graph is a graph drawn in the plane so that its vertices are represented by points, and its edges are represented by Jordan curves connecting the corresponding points, with the property that any two curves have at most one point in common.
